FUND RAISING & VOLUNTEERING

We have plans for another busy ski season within all the different programs: Nancy Green and E/K/J/FIS.  The Revelstoke Ski Club maintain's a healthy budget supported by RSC membership fees, fund raising activities, grant applications and events/races.

To fall in line with other Ski Clubs and because of the huge number of volunteers it takes to hold races and to coordinate and run fundraising activities the following schedule is in place. Helping with club events and fundraising activities will contribute to the volunteer days. The club also recognizes the volunteer hours required to successfully hold events/races and therefore your volunteer time at another club's event can be used to supplement your RSC requirements. The schedule will be as follows: (updated Sept. 2011).

The Revelstoke Ski Club is more than just a service to teach kids to ski. As a club, we hope to gain participation of the whole family and promote the love of skiing and racing in a fun and fair manner. The above is only a guideline and is the minimum days required per family, it is of course hoped that all families will contribute to the highest level possible for their situation. The implementation of a Volunteer Day policy is an attempt to spread the work around so that we can involve as many people as possible.

Policy explanation:

What qualifies for a volunteer day?

Events include: parades, organized raffle club ticket sales (excludes BC Alpine tickets assigned at the beginning of the season), Homecoming, Glacier Challenge, Ski Swap, Warren Miller Movie, etc and of course races and mountain events.

Fundraising

Fundraising is key to maintaining programs as affordable as possible for families. Fundraising events differ from year to year and require the full support of ski club members and families. Participation in fundraising events contributes to family volunteer days. Your support and appreciation is appreciated. For information on how you can contribute please contact our fundraising coordinator.

Supporting the Revelstoke Ski Club

The Revelstoke Ski Club appreciates the support it receives from the greater community to assist the club to meet its mandate of providing affordable high quality programming to all its members.  Without the financial, goods and in-kind services the club receives from individuals, groups and businesses this programming would not be possible.  Support is received in a number of ways and to assist in clarifying how the club will recognize each donor the following policy will in effect as of December 2009. Please contact our club president if you wish to provide support to our club.
