WELCOME TO THE NANCY GREENE SKI LEAGUE!
The Nancy Greene Ski League (NGSL) is the FUNdamental
stage of ski racing. The philosophy is to promote fun, safety, skill development and fair play. Children are introduced to basic skiing
techniques and skills in small groups and in as many different snow
conditions as possible. Most importantly, the program promotes having fun on skiis. The children participate within their club, in team and individual competitions. These events encourage new friendships in a fun and friendly environment, while demonstrating the skills developed in the NGSL.
Read this message from Nancy Greene and visit the official Nancy Greene Ski League website.
The Revelstoke Ski Club offers the Nancy Greene Program for skiers aged 5-11 on Sundays 9:30 -2:30. Our season begins on the first Sunday of January and runs 11 weeks.
We offer a shorter half day program for 5 years
old new to the program. The half day program has limited space and is
geared to those children who do not have the endurance for a whole day. This program runs 9:30-11:30 or 12:30-2:30.All children registering for the NGSL must be familiar with the ski lifts and be able to ski the beginner slopes in a snowplow. A ski helmet and valid lift pass are mandatory for participation.
Skiers progress through the "Snow Stars" program - a seven step skills progression program in ski development for children at this age level. It encourages the development of skiers and ski racers of all ability levels

How good do skiers need to be?
If children can manage the chair lift /
gondola by themselves and can ski (snow plow) regular green run they
can join in the fun!For small children who can ski, but require assistance on and off the lift, we welcome parents to accompany them.
Who will be coaching?
Our coaches have a minimum of level 1 certification by the Canadian Ski Coaching Federation. Periodically we are able to offer a level 1 certification here in Revelstoke for parents interested in coaching.Do skiers have to race?
Although races at this level are designed to be fun, there is no pressure to attend races. We do hold one race per year in Revelstoke that our children can participate in. There will always be coaching as usual at Revelstoke on race days. How much time must parents commit?
Our
ski club programs could not run without the efforts of its parents and
fundraising. Fundraising helps to keep our programs as affordable as
possible to local parents. One of the more successful fund raisers is
hosting races, which require a lot of volunteer officials to run them
safely and fairly for all competitors. This is why all parents are
asked to assist in hosting these events.E2 Development Program
There is an E2 Race
Development program for Nancy Greene skiers age 9-10. This program will
begin in December, running Saturdays and Sundays until April. This is an introductory race program which will also include 2
training camps being offered during Christmas and Spring break and
midweek dryland training under the supervision of our trained coaches.
